Thanks to All of Our Volunteers!

Cardinal Greenways has almost 350 volunteers who help with events, adopt portions of the trail, maintain the trail, or monitor the safety of the trail. Each year the volunteers are honored at a special fall dinner. Our volunteers contributed over 4500 hours of their time in 2009. This involvement translates into $32,625 if the number of hours were multiplied by the minimum wage value of $7.25. Our volunteers are crucial to the present and future success of Cardinal Greenways.

Become a Volunteer or a Trail Adopter!

People interested in becoming a volunteer must fill out a Volunteer Form and furnish information for a required background check.

Potential volunteers then attend a staff-directed Cardinal Greenways orientation session. Volunteers help with events, maintenance and security.
