MISSION & HISTORY

Indiana's largest horse trail fundraising event!

The Greenway Giddy-up was founded in 2002 by Delaware Greenways, Inc. and madeBruce Sickles, DVM 2003 possible through community partnerships.
This is an annual fundraising event for the regions trails (Delaware, Randolph & Henry Counties). The program was originally aimed primarily at horse enthusiasts, but has expanded. The Giddy-up now includes attractions for horse enthusiasts and the general public alike.
The Giddy-up has raised funds that allowed us to make improvements to the trails - such as hitching rails, picnic tables, stone, and electrical pole. These improvements would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the public, business sponsors and volunteers.
Just as importantly the Giddy-up has created great new relationships and partners with the business community and individuals alike. The semi-annual work weekends on the equestrian trails have had tremendous turn-outs, which reaffirms our commitment to  improve and maintain our regions equestrian trails.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Our annual Giddy-up, trail maintenance, and improvements are a result of the dedication of volunteers. Volunteers plan, organize and implement the annual Giddy-up. Event volunteers assist participants in numerous ways, welcoming guests, serving food and demonstrations making sure the event is enjoyable for everyone. The Giddy-up Committee volunteers are responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of the annual event.
The Greenway Giddy-up is  Indiana's largest horse trail fundraising event - and one of the regions signature annual events.
